Set during the 60’s at a time of great civil unrest in Angola, which was then under Portuguese colonial rule, director Zézé Gamboa skilfully captures and portrays the climate of the time in a film that is engaging and revelatory. -
Lesson of Evil

It is so brutally violent, it numbs you into submission and you are unsure how you should react to it. There is little joy in watching the film but it stands as a unique testament to enfant terrible director Takashi Miike’s crazy view of the world. -
