Out This Week: 31 August 2017

We got two surefire recommendations for you this weekend!

This weekend you must head over to the cinemas, because we have not one but two surefire recommendations for you, so keep reading.

American Made

Directed by: Doug Liman
With: Tom Cruise, Domhnall Gleeson, Sarah Wright, and Caleb Landry Jones
What is it about? A pilot lands work for the CIA and as a drug runner in the south during the 1980s.
Heads Up: Last time Cruise and Liman worked together they gave us the brilliant Sci-Fi action film Edge of Tomorrow, and the reviews suggest this period action comedy is yet another successful collaboration. This is for sure is a must see.

Logan Lucky

Directed by: Steven Soderbergh
With: Channing Tatum, Adam Driver, Daniel Craig, and Hilary Swank
What is it about? Two brothers attempt to pull off a heist during a NASCAR race in North Carolina.
Heads Up: Steven Soderbergh returning from “retirement” is a big deal. The all star cast, and the amazing reviews makes it a surefire recommendation.

Marvel’s Inhumans

Directed by: Roel Reiné
With: Anson Mount, Iwan Rheon, Serinda Swan, and Henry Ian Cusick
What is it about? After the Royal Family of Inhumans is splintered by a military coup, they barely escape to Hawaii where their surprising interactions with the lush world and humanity around them may prove to not only save them, but Earth itself.
Heads Up: Showing exclusively in IMAX screens around the world, Marvel’s Inhumans is the 80-min premier of a new TV series that’s coming out this fall. If you have the series on your radar, then you might wanna watch this on the big screen as it was shot with IMAX cameras.

Birth Of The Dragon

Directed by: George Nolfi
With: Philip Ng, Yu Xia, Billy Magnussen, and Terry Chen
What is it about? Set against the backdrop of 1960s San Francisco, it’s a modern take on the classic movies that Bruce Lee was known for. It takes its inspiration from the epic and still controversial showdown between an up-and-coming Bruce Lee and kung fu master Wong Jack Man. A battle that gave birth to a legend.
Heads Up: The trailer promised some cool martial art fight scenes, but the dialogue seems clunky and the plot seems predictable. I am digging the visuals and the period though, so if you are a martial art junkie, then go for it.

Baadshaho

Directed by: Milan Luthria
With: Ajay Devgn, Ileana D’Cruz, Emraan Hashmi, Vidyut Jammwal, and Esha Gupta.
What is it about? Inspired by real-life events during a state of emergency, the story of revolves around stolen gold, and the group of misfits entrusted with protecting the country’s treasure.
Heads Up: Milan Luthria makes those Masala Bollywood movies that have enough of action and drama to entertain the weekend crowd. His regular Ajay Devgn is at it again here, and the trailer promises a thrill ride. For Bollywood junkies, it should be a good time at the cinemas.
