Two million years ago, after being rejected by his tribe for being too scrawny, a young ape-man named Edouard falls out of his tree and breaks one of his forelegs. To survive, he stands upright and invents walking on two feet. To convince his fellow ape-men to join him, Edouard redoubles his ingenuity and invents fire, hunting, modern dwellings, love, and …. hope.
