Keeping the indie spirit going, here is another feature which just got a standing ovation at the Telluride Film Festival.
Based on the memoirs of Maziar Bahari played by the underrated Gael Garcia Bernal, Rosewater follows a Iranian born Canadian journalist who heads back to Iran to interview Mir-Hossein Mousavi in 2009 who was the challenger to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. What happens after is kind of expected for its time in Iran but it feels really well done here. The trump card of the film is the writer/director who is the former Oscar host funny man Jon Stewart.
All I hope from this film is that it does not turn out to be another Argo coz Argofuckyourself.
