Johnny Depp is the Salman Khan of Hollywood. He has become a one trick pony which used to work in the past but not anymore. Just like Salman his films might make the money but they are just atrocious to watch for a sensible human. He ends up playing the same character in every movie and this one is no different.
As per the official synopsis Depp is juggling some angry Russians, the British Mi5, his impossibly leggy wife and an international terrorist along with a debonair art dealer. Charlie Mortdecai (Depp) is a part time rogue whatever that means who must traverse the globe armed only with his good looks (check) and special charm (check) in a race to recover a stolen painting rumored to contain the code to a lost bank account filled with Nazi gold.
The film surprisingly has a pretty solid supporting cast which includes Gwyneth Paltrow, Ewan McGregor, Jeff Goldblum, Paul Bettany, Oliver Platt and for the hipsters they have Aubrey Plaza and Olivia Munn. I say surprising because the director is David Koepp who has been associated with some trash except the original Mission Impossible which he wrote.
You watch and decide.
