After watching this trailer, Hercules has moved from “mildly-interesting” to “I want another trailer” territory. You see, it isn’t easy to be excited about a movie that is directed by Brett Ratner, he who destroyed the X-Men franchise. But he is also the man who made Red Dragon back in 2002, which is an excellent film.
So what to expect from this movie? Not much, one would say, considering the CGI-laden junk-food culture the movie belongs to. Except…. The Rock! It isn’t easy to ignore a Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson presence, even when it is a little more than a cameo (remember The Other Guys?), let alone a screen-chewing full-blown presence (Pain & Gain!). Even if this turns out to be an average film, The Rock should provide the solid reason to watch it.
